Why "no upload" matters
Most online file converters work by uploading your file to their server, processing it there, and sending the result back. That model has real problems.
Your files sit on someone else's server
Popular converter sites state in their own policies that uploaded files can remain on their servers for up to 24 hours, and that usage data is logged. For bank statements, contracts, private emails or family photos, that should be a dealbreaker.
Size limits and queues exist because servers cost money
Free tiers cap you at 50–100 MB and a couple of conversions per day, then make you wait in line — because every file you upload costs the operator bandwidth and compute. When your own device does the work, none of that is necessary.
How StaysPrivate tools work instead
Each tool page downloads a small piece of processing code that runs inside your browser. Your file is opened locally, transformed locally, and saved locally. You can verify this: load a tool page, disconnect your internet, and it keeps working.
What we can and can't see
We can see anonymous page-view counts. We cannot see your files, their names, their contents, or anything in them — they are never transmitted to us or anyone else.
