About StaysPrivate
StaysPrivate is built and run by Muhammad Rashid Nawaz, an independent developer. No company boilerplate, no venture funding — one person with a simple conviction: your files are nobody else's business.
Why this site exists
Most online file converters work by uploading your file to their servers. For a meme, fine. For bank statements, contracts, private emails or family photos, that should feel wrong — because it is. Modern browsers are powerful enough to convert, extract and rename files entirely on your own device, so that's how every StaysPrivate tool is built. The file never crosses the network.
How you can verify the privacy claim
Don't take my word for it — test it: open any tool on this site, let the page finish loading, then turn off your Wi-Fi or unplug your connection. Drop a file. The tool still works, because everything runs in your browser. A converter that uploads your files simply cannot do that. You can also watch the network tab of your browser's developer tools while converting: you'll see no file data leaving your machine.
How the site makes money
Every tool is free with generous limits. Heavy users — bookkeepers, law offices, photographers — can buy Pro once for $29 to remove batch limits. No subscriptions, no ads that follow you, no selling data (we never have your data in the first place).
